About Cris

Have you heard about those guest speakers and facilitators who go on and on about how wonderful they are? And then tell you how they ‘discovered’ the answer and now you can have it too (at a huge cost)?

Well, that’s not Cris. He believes that kind of talk disempowers people. And we’re here to excite and incentivise your people. He also has a healthy respect that everyone’s path is unique. As such, you should “walk your own walk”.

What does Cris mean by this? He’s had struggles (and still does). And he’s made a few mistakes. In fact, he believes in making mistakes every day, to learn and grow. But Cris also believes in learning from others. His journey has taught him some valuable shortcuts. Shortcuts that can help you (and others) avoid some of the pitfalls he’s experienced.

Cris has shared a stage with the likes of the Dalai Lama, Brené Brown and others. Their inspiration shaped the successful wellbeing practises that Cris now brings to workplaces.

How to Design Effective Workplace Wellbeing Programs for Millennials

As millennials dominate the workforce, it’s time for companies to revamp their wellbeing programs to cater to this vibrant generation’s unique needs and concerns.

Here are five key strategies to create irresistible wellbeing initiatives that will captivate and engage your millennial team:

    1. Discover Their Passion Points

Health insurance may not top their list, but millennials are fiercely passionate about critical issues like climate change, work-life balance, and accessibility to healthy food. Engage them directly by conducting surveys or quick emails to learn what truly matters to them. Stay relevant by aligning your wellbeing program with their passions.

    1. Lead by Example

Embrace a top-down approach to initiate change. Demonstrate healthy habits from the highest echelons of management. Incorporate invigorating wellbeing activities and discussions into daily routines, transforming these activities into ingrained habits. Showcase your enthusiasm for healthy practices and illustrate how the company supports their implementation.

    1. Offer Autonomy for Health

One-size-fits-all wellbeing programs no longer suffice. Millennials crave autonomy and freedom of choice. Instead of dictating how to be healthy, provide them with diverse opportunities to explore their individual health journeys. Offer a buffet of wellbeing options, empowering them to autonomously make choices that resonate with their wellbeing.

How to Design Effective Workplace Wellbeing Programs for Millennials
    1. Appreciation for Enhanced Happiness

Beyond monetary gains, appreciation holds the key to team satisfaction and performance. Show your millennial team that their efforts matter. Explore creative forms of recognition, from thoughtful thank-you cards and swag to catered lunches and social media shout-outs. Surprise them with unexpected flex hours to elevate their happiness.

    1. Embrace Change with Sustainable Policies

Wellbeing is a constantly evolving landscape. Break free from outdated policies and remain agile to adapt to the ever-changing needs of your millennial workforce. Embrace change as the key to consistency in your wellbeing program, making it an exciting and dynamic journey for all.

Millennials are a force to be reckoned with, and their well-being is no exception. Craft wellbeing programs that resonate with their passions, offer autonomy, and celebrate their efforts.
